Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing setting
• Assess and monitor patient conditions, reporting changes promptly to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document all interventions
• Develop and update care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members
• Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and follow-up needs
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and ensure regulatory compliance
• Respond to urgent situations calmly and effectively, prioritizing patient safety
• Support a positive, team-first environment that promotes quality of life for residents

Qualifications

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Maryland or compact/state-appropriate license
• Previous LPN experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar clinical setting preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS or other certifications a plus
• Comfortable with medication administration, wound care basics, and clinical documentation
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with nursing staff and leadership
• Flexible, dependable, and ready for a contract travel assignment

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program (LPN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid clinical assessment and vital sign interpretation
• Medication administration and safe dosage calculation practices
• Charting and electronic medical record familiarity
• Infection control and standard precautions
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced care environment
• Empathy, patient education, and family communication
