Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, respectful care to geriatric residents every shift
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, mobility)
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to licensed nursing staff promptly
• Support meal service and assist with feeding when required
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and handoff communication at shift change
• Help create a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to promote resident well-being

Qualifications

• Active Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification
• Previous experience working with older adults preferred but new grads with strong caregiving skills encouraged to apply
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) recommended or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Positive attitude, patience, and strong teamwork skills

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• GNA certification or equivalent vocational credential

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong person-centered care approach and empathy for older adults
• Good communication and documentation skills
• Basic knowledge of safety, infection control, and elder care best practices
• Ability to assist with transfers, mobility, and safe use of equipment
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs during busy shifts
