Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care during the night shift
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Assess, monitor, and document patient status and communicate changes promptly
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the care team to coordinate treatment
- Perform efficient handoffs and maintain clear, timely charting in the EMR
- Provide patient and family education with clarity and empathy
- Respond to clinical emergencies with composure and clinical skill
- Support a positive unit culture and mentor peers when opportunities arise
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license valid in New Mexico
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; other advanced certifications a plus
- Clinical experience in acute care settings preferred
- Excellent assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to pass facility background and health screenings as required
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of nursing assessment and intervention techniques
- Medication administration and IV/infusion experience
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation practices
- Ability to prioritize and manage a varied patient assignment overnight
- Teamwork, adaptability, and patient-focused bedside manner
