Geriatric Nursing Assistant

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mealtime support
- Support mobility and safe transfers while promoting independence and dignity
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly communicate concerns to nursing staff
- Document resident care accurately and timely in the medical record
- Provide compassionate companionship and engage residents in meaningful activities
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe environment
- Collaborate with the care team to deliver personalized, person-centered care
Qualifications
- Valid GNA certification or equivalent required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is preferred
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a compassionate care team
- Physical ability to safely assist with transfers and resident mobility
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- GNA certification or state-recognized nursing assistant credential
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic patient care skills and knowledge of activities of daily living
- Familiarity with infection prevention and safe handling techniques
- Competence in basic charting and documentation practices
- Ability to recognize and report changes in a resident's condition
- Good interpersonal skills and a patient, respectful approach when interacting with residents and families
