Shift Type: Daytime clinic and endoscopy schedule (typical daytime hours); shared call coverage 1:3 with hospitalist support; inpatient ERCP/EUS coverage as needed

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform and provide expert care in ERCP and EUS procedures to diagnose and treat complex GI conditions
- Deliver high-quality ambulatory endoscopy services in the new endoscopy surgery center
- Manage inpatient endoscopy consults and procedures at the single-hospital service
- Collaborate closely with hospitalists and local colorectal surgeons to coordinate patient care
- Participate in shared call coverage (1:3) and ensure smooth transitions of care
- Document patient encounters and procedures using Cerner EMR for clear, timely communication
Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology (required)
- Clinical experience and demonstrated ability in ERCP and EUS (specialization required)
- Experience with ambulatory endoscopy and inpatient endoscopy workflows
- Eligible for/holds an active Michigan medical license and DEA registration (or willing to obtain)
- Comfortable using Cerner EMR for clinical documentation and workflow
Education
- MD or DO with completed Gastroenterology fellowship; Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced endoscopic skills including ERCP and EUS
- Strong procedural efficiency and patient flow management in ambulatory surgery center settings
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (hospitalists, colorectal surgeons)
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR and clinical documentation best practices
- On-call management and inpatient consultation skills
