Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to medical-surgical patients during night shifts
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and vital signs to detect changes quickly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Coordinate patient care and handoffs with day teams to ensure continuity
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly and timely
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Participate in unit initiatives to improve patient safety and quality

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• Previous Medical-Surgical nursing experience only, must have prior Med-Surg experience
• ACLS certification (required)
• BLS or BCLS certification (required)
• Telemetry experience preferred
• Compliance with Maine flu vaccine mandate

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Telemetry monitoring and rhythm recognition
• IV medication administration and infusion management
• Accurate clinical documentation and electronic charting
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced night shift environment
• Teamwork, clear communication, and bedside teaching skills
