Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide respectful, person-centered care to geriatric residents, promoting dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
- Monitor and report changes in residents' condition to nursing staff promptly
- Help with safe transfers, ambulation, and positioning to reduce fall risk
- Document care accurately and timely in facility records
- Support mealtime assistance and encourage nutritional intake when needed
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent as required by the facility
- Availability to work per diem evening shifts (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM)
- Demonstrated compassion, patience, and strong communication skills with older adults
- Ability to follow care plans and document care thoroughly
- Basic infection control knowledge and ability to follow facility policies
Education
- Completion of an approved GNA training program or equivalent
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on resident care and ADL assistance
- Observation skills to identify changes in condition
- Safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
- Clear, professional communication with residents and clinical teams
- Basic documentation and charting skills
- Teamwork and time management in a busy care setting
