Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents and support their daily living needs
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting) with dignity and respect
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes promptly
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Document care and observations clearly and timely in the resident record
• Collaborate with nurses and the care team to follow care plans and ensure continuity
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control protocols
• Build rapport with residents and families to create a positive care experience

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — required
• Current state CNA registry listing (as applicable for North Carolina)
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered approach
• Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working as part of a team

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA program (implied by certification)

Knowledge & Skills

• Fundamental knowledge of basic nursing care and ADLs
• Skill in taking and recording vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with infection control practices and PPE use
• Basic documentation skills and attention to detail
• Good interpersonal skills to support residents and collaborate with staff
• Ability to follow care plans and escalate concerns appropriately
