Location: Brooklyn Park, Maryland
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Evening shift; specific days vary based on facility needs)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $22 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
- Assist residents with mobility and safe transfers while using proper body mechanics
- Monitor and report changes in residents’ condition to nursing staff promptly
- Take and record basic vital signs and follow care plans as directed
- Document care accurately and clearly in resident records
- Support a warm, home-like environment by engaging residents in conversation and meaningful activities
- Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies at all times
Qualifications
- Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification valid in Maryland
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtainable upon hire
- Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening
- Up-to-date immunizations and TB testing as required by the facility
- Comfortable assisting with physical care and following care plans
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an accredited GNA program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of elderly care needs and common age-related conditions
- Basic vital signs and observation skills
- Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
- Clear, respectful communication with residents, families, and staff
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
- Familiarity with charting and basic care documentation
