Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to older adults, including assistance with bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
- Support residents with daily living activities to promote dignity and independence
- Assist with safe transfers and positioning, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
- Record care provided and contribute to clear, timely documentation
- Help create a warm, home-like environment by engaging residents in conversation and activities
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) as required by state regulation
- Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
- Comfortable assisting with mobility and safe patient handling
- Strong communication skills and a patient, respectful approach to elder care
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- GNA certification or completion of a state-approved nursing assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience or training in elder care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Familiarity with infection control and safe hygiene practices
- Competence in basic resident observations and reporting
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Attention to detail for accurate documentation
