Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and support to residents
• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Monitor and record resident condition and vital signs, reporting changes promptly
• Support mobility and safe transfers with proper body mechanics
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
• Document care accurately and timely in the resident record
• Collaborate with the nursing team to carry out individualized care plans
• Encourage social engagement and emotional well-being for each resident

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
• Registered on the appropriate state nursing assistant registry or eligible for registration
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
• Ability to pass background check, TB screening, and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to resident care

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• Completion of an accredited GNA training program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and dignity-centered care
• Proficiency assisting with activities of daily living and basic medication observation
• Knowledge of infection control and standard precautions
• Skill in safe resident handling and fall prevention
• Comfortable with basic charting and following care plans
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team
