Shift Type: Night, 3x12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). Exact days vary; option for 4x12 upon request. Orientation: 36 hours. Night schedule with floating between like units as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert nursing care for laboring and postpartum patients, ensuring safety and comfort throughout labor, delivery, and recovery
- Monitor fetal status and maternal vitals, interpret trends, and escalate concerns promptly
- Perform neonatal resuscitation and urgent interventions as needed using NRP and ACLS guidelines
- Document thoroughly and accurately in Epic to maintain continuity of care and clear communication
- Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, neonatologists, and the interdisciplinary team to create and execute patient-centered plans
- Teach and support patients and families on postpartum care, breastfeeding, newborn care, and discharge planning
- Manage workloads effectively within a 1:3 ratio to deliver high-quality, safe care
- Step in during emergencies and provide calm, skilled clinical leadership at the bedside
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States; pending licenses are not accepted
- Hard-stop: Minimum 2 years of hands-on Labor and Postpartum experience
- Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, and NRP
- Preferred certification: AWHONN Advanced
- First-time travel nurses not accepted; prior experience required
- Willingness to float between like units when requested
- Ability to work night shifts and adapt to a 3x12 schedule; orientation of 36 hours required
Knowledge & Skills
- Labor and postpartum nursing best practices and maternal-newborn care
- Proficient charting in Epic
- Fetal monitoring interpretation and appropriate escalation
- Neonatal resuscitation (NRP) and ACLS/BLS skills
- Patient and family education with a compassionate bedside manner
- Strong clinical judgment, prioritization, and teamwork
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care hospital environment
