Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to older adults, promoting dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report observations to nursing staff
• Support safe transfers and proper use of mobility aides to reduce fall risk
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and resident interactions
• Promote a warm, home-like environment by engaging residents in conversation and activities
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff

Qualifications

• Active GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification or equivalent required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Demonstrated ability to work nights and adapt to per diem scheduling
• Strong observational skills and clear communication with interdisciplinary teams
• Compassionate, patient-centered demeanor with a commitment to elder care

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, safe resident handling
• Familiarity with documentation best practices and charting accuracy
• Understanding of infection control standards and PPE use
• Ability to follow care plans and implement nurse-directed interventions
• Good interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and staff
