Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered care to older adults with dignity and respect
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing and mobility
• Perform routine clinical tasks such as taking vital signs and reporting changes promptly
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents receive appropriate nutrition and hydration
• Document care accurately and communicate observations to the nursing team
• Help create a safe, comfortable environment and participate in fall prevention efforts
• Work collaboratively with nurses, therapists and family members to support care plans

Qualifications

• Valid GNA certification (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification (preferred or able to obtain)
• Comfortable working with geriatric populations and skilled in safe resident handling
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility health requirements
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Previous long-term care or assisted living experience is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completed GNA training program or equivalent certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Foundational knowledge of geriatric care principles and elder safety
• Proficiency with basic patient care tasks and vital sign measurement
• Familiarity with infection control and standard precautions
• Skilled in resident transfer and mobility assistance techniques
• Accurate documentation and time management skills
• Compassion, patience and strong interpersonal skills
