Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; one Saturday per month (rotating), 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM — Day shift

Candidate Pay Rate: $40 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic tests with precision — fundus photography, OCT, Humphrey visual fields, autorefractor, corneal topography and A-Scans
- Obtain and record vital signs and detailed medical histories to support accurate diagnoses
- Prepare patients for exams and office surgical procedures, administering topical meds as ordered
- Assist ophthalmologists and optometrists during exams and minor procedures, including intravitreal injections and basic surgical tasks
- Ensure accurate charting in Epic and maintain clear, professional patient records
- Manage scheduling, patient check-in/greeting, and coordinate surgical bookings seamlessly
- Clean, sterilize and maintain surgical instruments and diagnostic equipment to clinic standards
- Provide patient education on ocular medications, post-procedure care and eyewear/contact lens ordering
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of ophthalmic technician experience (required)
- BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
- Flu vaccination required (no exemptions or declinations)
- Experience with Optos imaging and Epic charting system required
- Graduation from an accredited Ophthalmic Technician program (preferred)
- Certified Ophthalmic Technician/Assistant (COT) preferred
- Comfortable working in a high-volume, multi-provider outpatient clinic
- Willingness to work one Saturday per month on a rotating schedule
Education
- Graduation from an accredited Ophthalmic Technician program (preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundus photography, OCT and Optos imaging expertise
- Proficiency with Humphrey visual field analyzer and visual field testing
- Skill with autorefractor, auto-refraction, keratometry and corneal topography
- Experience performing A-Scans and Schirmer tests
- Applanation tonometry and intraocular pressure measurement
- Strong patient prep, charting (Epic) and scheduling abilities
- Instrument sterilization, surgical assistance and specimen labeling
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
