Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, supporting dignity and comfort
- Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Measure and record vital signs and report changes promptly to the nursing team
- Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Document care accurately and timely in resident charts or electronic records
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver person-centered care
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control best practices
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Completion of an approved CNA program or equivalent clinical training
- CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Previous direct care experience preferred but enthusiastic new CNAs are welcome
Education
- Completion of an approved CNA program
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Resident care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Basic vital signs measurement and observation skills
- Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Infection control practices and maintaining a sanitary environment
- Accurate documentation and attention to detail
- Compassionate bedside manner and the ability to build rapport quickly
