Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility and toileting while preserving dignity
- Monitor residents for changes and promptly report observations to nursing staff
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and resident condition
- Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
- Collaborate with the care team to deliver individualized care plans and positive outcomes
- Create a warm, respectful environment that promotes resident comfort and independence
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (state-specific) or equivalent credential
- Completion of an approved Nursing Assistant/GNA training program
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain prior to assignment
- Ability to pass background checks and required facility screenings
- Comfortable working with the geriatric population and dementia-friendly techniques
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work the 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM evening shift as needed
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an accredited GNA/Nursing Assistant program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong skills in assisting with ADLs and promoting resident independence
- Knowledge of infection control, safety protocols, and proper hygiene practices
- Clear, compassionate communication with residents, families and care teams
- Basic documentation and charting ability
- Attention to detail, patience, and a calm approach in busy situations
- Ability to follow care plans and take initiative when resident needs change
