Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, helping with activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and safe transfers
- Observe and report changes in residents' condition to the nursing team promptly
- Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents' comfort during meals
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and observations
- Promote dignity, independence, and a safe environment for every resident
- Work collaboratively with nurses, therapists, and family members to deliver quality care
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
- Basic CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach
- Ability to pass background and health screenings as required
Education
- High school diploma or GED; completion of an accredited GNA program preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and dignity-centered approaches
- Basic infection control and hand hygiene practices
- Safe resident transfer and mobility assistance techniques
- Comfortable with documentation and following care plans
- Teamwork, reliable time management, and clear communication skills
