Shift Type: Per diem nights (varies by assignment), 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Night shift)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to geriatric residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes in condition to nursing staff
- Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents’ nutritional needs are met
- Maintain clear, timely documentation in resident charts and communicate handoffs effectively
- Follow infection prevention protocols and facility policies to keep residents safe
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and support staff to deliver coordinated care
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) — state certification or eligibility required
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Ability to work night shifts and flexible per diem assignments
- Comfort working with elderly patients and those with varying levels of mobility and cognition
- Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a state-approved GNA/assistive nursing training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience with ADLs and safe patient handling techniques
- Knowledge of basic clinical observations: vitals, skin integrity, hydration monitoring
- Familiarity with infection control practices and PPE use
- Accurate documentation and basic charting skills
- Compassionate bedside manner and patience in geriatric care
- Ability to follow care plans and escalate changes appropriately
