Shift Type: Primarily Day shift, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM; exact days vary by schedule and will be coordinated with the team (day shift coverage is the focus; night coverage is on-call as needed)

Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality respiratory care: assess, treat, and evaluate patients with respiratory insufficiencies such as asthma, pneumonia, and COPD
- Manage and operate respiratory equipment including oxygen systems, CPAP and BIPAP machines, nebulizers and suction devices
- Deliver emergency respiratory interventions and support code response as needed with required certifications
- Document patient care thoroughly and accurately in Meditech EMR to ensure continuity and quality of care
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff and multidisciplinary team members to develop and adjust care plans
- Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies and equipment use to improve outcomes and confidence
- Participate in unit initiatives like stroke education and quality improvement activities to advance patient care
Qualifications
- RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist) — required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are ABSOLUTE MUSTS
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care hospital RRT experience
- NRP required for NICU candidates (if applicable to assignment)
- Meditech experience is preferred by leadership
- Strong teamwork, critical thinking, and patient-focused attitude
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of oxygen therapy modalities and ventilatory support (CPAP, BIPAP)
- Experience with respiratory equipment: oxygen cylinders, concentrators, nebulizers, suction machines
- Comfortable using Meditech EMR for documentation and orders
- Ability to triage respiratory needs and prioritize care in a fast-paced acute setting
- Experience or interest in stroke education is a plus
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
