Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based labor and delivery care for mothers and newborns
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using electronic fetal monitoring and respond to changes promptly
- Assist with labor progression and support natural and assisted deliveries when needed
- Collaborate closely with physicians, midwives and the interdisciplinary team to develop and execute care plans
- Perform postpartum assessments and initiate newborn care and education
- Document clinical findings, interventions and outcomes accurately in the medical record
- Respond quickly and effectively to obstetric emergencies, following hospital protocols
- Educate patients and families on labor, delivery and postpartum care in a clear and respectful way
Qualifications
- Active RN license in state of assignment or compact license where applicable; Texas RN required if working under Texas regulations
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience; L&D experience preferred
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) and ACLS recommended or preferred for many L&D units
- Current immunizations and required health screenings for hospital credentialing
- Ability to pass facility onboarding and meet travel assignment requirements
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in electronic fetal monitoring interpretation and bedside fetal assessment
- Strong intrapartum nursing skills including labor support, pain management and delivery assistance
- Proficient in newborn care and immediate postpartum assessments
- Excellent clinical judgment and ability to prioritize in urgent situations
- Effective communication and teamwork with physicians, midwives and support staff
- Comfortable with unit-based documentation systems and electronic medical records
