Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: Days 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM and Nights 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM; cyclic self-scheduling; minimum every 3rd weekend and at least 2 holidays per contract (12-hour night focus available)

Candidate Pay Rate: $62 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to inpatient rehab patients (stroke, SCI, amputee, brain injury, neurological disease and adult/geriatrics)
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary rehab team to create and execute individualized care plans
• Accurately document patient care and assessments in EPIC to ensure continuity and safety
• Administer medications and set-rate drips safely while following unit protocols
• Support patient mobility, recovery goals and education during the rehab process
• Mentor and coordinate with nurse aides and techs to maintain safe patient ratios and workflows
• Participate in orientation and competency validation (open-book skills exam during orientation)

Qualifications

• Active RN license (must be eligible to work in Nebraska at time of start)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (acute care or MedSurg/Inpatient Rehab preferred)
• BLS certification required
• Experience charting in EPIC preferred and strongly recommended
• Valid driver’s license required at submittal (radius rule: candidates must be within 50 miles)
• Comfort with 12-hour shifts and the ability to float to MedSurg when needed
• Willingness to complete orientation requirements and pass the orientation exam (90% pass threshold)
• Not currently full-time/part-time/PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI or Dignity)

Education

• Active RN license in Nebraska (BSN not required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in inpatient rehabilitation and MedSurg nursing practices
• Strong communication, organization and teamwork abilities
• Experience caring for stroke, SCI, amputee and brain injury patients
• Problem solving and clinical judgment in fast-paced acute settings
• Ability to work with a diverse patient population including adults and geriatrics
• Comfortable with EPIC electronic charting and unit documentation standards
• Familiarity with set-rate drips (antibiotics, anticoagulation, antiplatelets) and non-titratable regimens
