Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents throughout the shift
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Monitor residents' condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents receive proper nutrition
• Maintain accurate documentation and complete required charting in a timely manner
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain a safe, clean environment
• Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families to enhance quality of life

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) — required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Compassionate patient-care experience; prior long-term care or geriatric experience a plus
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to perform physical aspects of the role such as lifting, assisting with transfers, and standing for shifts

Education

• GNA certification (required)
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on resident care and assistance with ADLs
• Basic charting and documentation practices
• Understanding of infection prevention and safety practices
• Comfortable following care plans and reporting clinical changes
• Good interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and colleagues
