Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; includes weekends (every other weekend or 4 weekends per 4-week schedule depending on unit); must work 2 of 3 major holidays; floating between Chandler and Mercy Gilbert campuses possible with ~1.5 hour notification

Roles & Responsibilities

• Titrate cardiac drips safely and confidently per hospital protocol
• Interpret EKGs and continuously monitor telemetry for dysrhythmias
• Provide skilled bedside care across Telemetry and MedSurg populations, including post-cath and post-op cardiac patients
• Float between units and campuses as needed while maintaining high-quality patient care
• Collaborate with physicians, RTs, pharmacists, and PCTs to coordinate patient care
• Respond to simulated and real clinical scenarios; complete required sim lab successfully
• Document patient care accurately in Cerner and communicate handoffs clearly

Qualifications

• Active RN license (AZ or compact eligible)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience (Telemetry/MedSurg/critical care experience preferred)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS required for Neuro coverage
• Proven ability to interpret EKGs and titrate cardiac drips
• Willingness and ability to float across Telemetry, MedSurg, and occasionally ICU or Cath Lab areas
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam (within 48 hours of offer, up to 2 attempts) and a pass/fail Sim Lab on day one of orientation
• Comfort using Cerner charting system and working with centralized tele monitoring

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma (BSN not required)
• Active RN license in good standing
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation expertise
• Cardiac drip titration and post-cardiac procedure care
• Medical-Surgical nursing fundamentals and postoperative care
• Familiarity with NIHSS and stroke/TPA patient management
• Competence with Cerner electronic charting
• Strong clinical judgment, prioritization, and multitasking in a high-acuity setting
• Effective communication and teamwork across interdisciplinary teams
