Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered acute care to critically ill patients in the ICU
• Monitor and interpret complex hemodynamic and respiratory data to inform timely interventions
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams — physicians, respiratory therapists, and support staff — to coordinate comprehensive care
• Administer medications, titrate vasoactive infusions, and manage advanced life support equipment safely
• Educate and support patients and families through critical care processes and transitions
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and professionally

Qualifications

• Active RN license (NC licensure or compact/ability to obtain temporary licensure for travel assignments preferred)
• Minimum 2+ years of recent acute care/ICU nursing experience
• Current BLS required; ACLS strongly preferred
• Proven ability to manage ventilators, vasoactive drips, and complex critical care protocols
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced knowledge of critical care monitoring and interventions
• Skilled in ventilator management, arterial/central line care, and hemodynamic assessment
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple high-acuity patients
• Proficient with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Excellent teamwork and bedside communication skills
