Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide advanced respiratory care and treatments for NICU/PICU and adult patients using current best practices
• Manage and troubleshoot mechanical ventilation and high-frequency devices like 3100A and Bunnell
• Administer and monitor therapies including high flow devices, continuous nebulizers, Heliox and Nitric Oxide
• Perform non-invasive support such as BIPAP and deliver nebulizer therapy and CPT as needed
• Document patient assessments, interventions and progress in Meditech accurately and timely
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes in a fast-paced tertiary care environment
• Support unit staffing needs and float to other floors when required, maintaining patient safety and continuity of care

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Current BLS, NRP and PALS certifications (must have)
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience
• Current NICU/PICU experience (advanced skill preferred)
• Experience with Meditech strongly preferred by the director
• Demonstrated teamwork, critical thinking and adaptability in fast-paced settings

Knowledge & Skills

• Respiratory therapy and pediatric/neonatal respiratory care
• Mechanical ventilation and ventilator management (3100A, Bunnell, Servo ventilators)
• High flow devices and continuous nebulizer systems
• Administration and monitoring of Nitric Oxide and Heliox therapies
• BIPAP, nebulizer therapy and chest physiotherapy (CPT)
• Electronic charting and documentation using Meditech
• Ability to float to adult floors and provide diverse respiratory interventions
