Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to newborns, pediatrics, adults and geriatric patients
• Rapidly assess, triage and prioritize patients presenting with stroke, sepsis, trauma, MI, respiratory failure and cardiac arrest
• Administer and monitor critical interventions, including use of specialty equipment like Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun
• Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC to ensure continuity of care and clear communication
• Float across ED areas and adapt to unit needs while maintaining patient safety and standards
• Step into charge responsibilities when needed to coordinate care teams and patient flow
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver efficient, patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Active New York RN license (NURSYS verification required) — all RN licenses must be listed
• TNCC required and must be in hand at time of submission
• Current AHA ACLS, BLS and PALS certifications; NIHSS current
• Minimum 2+ years of Emergency Department experience with some pediatrics experience
• Travel experience is required (please document any travel assignments)
• EMR experience required: EPIC
• Valid driver’s license with address matching your demographics
• RTO documentation must be included at time of submission
• Charge capability highly preferred and floating is required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong ED clinical assessment and triage skills
• Comfort managing high-acuity diagnoses: stroke, sepsis, trauma, MI, cardiac arrest, respiratory failure
• Experience with pediatric assessments and newborn care in the ED setting
• Familiarity with specialty equipment (Rapid Infusor, Arctic Sun) and advanced life support interventions
• Proficient documentation skills in EPIC
• Ability to float across unit sections and maintain flexibility under pressure
• Leadership skills for charge roles and effective team communication
