Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and treatment to neonatal, pediatric and other patients in the NICU/PICU and respiratory unit
• Manage and titrate mechanical ventilators and advanced respiratory support devices using best practice protocols
• Deliver targeted therapies including nebulizer treatments, BiPAP, Heliox and Nitric Oxide as clinically indicated
• Perform respiratory assessments, evaluate treatment effectiveness and adjust plans of care
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech and communicate changes clearly to the multidisciplinary team
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and other caregivers to support comprehensive patient care
• Float to adult floors as needed to provide nebulizer therapy, BiPAP, CPT and other respiratory services

Qualifications

• RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience
• Current NICU/PICU experience (advanced skill preferred)
• BLS, NRP and PALS required
• Meditech experience preferred by the director

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilator management and ventilator weaning strategies
• Experience with High Flow Devices, 3100A and Bunnell technologies
• Familiarity with Servo ventilators, continuous nebulizers and regular nebulizer therapy
• Clinical experience with Nitric Oxide and Heliox therapies
• Competence in BiPAP, CPT and other respiratory procedures
• Accurate documentation practices and effective interdisciplinary communication
