Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct, individualized critical care nursing to CCU/ICU patients using evidence-based practices
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in coordination with the healthcare team
• Prepare and administer medications safely and document responses and adverse events
• Monitor hemodynamics, cardiac rhythms and life-support equipment and initiate corrective action when needed
• Manage ventilators and respiratory support, adjusting settings per protocols and physician orders
• Obtain lab specimens, interpret diagnostic tests and act on abnormal results promptly
• Educate patients and families on post-treatment care, medication administration and rehabilitation goals
• Maintain thorough, accurate and timely documentation of patient care and clinical communications
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and emergency interventions
• Apply IV, phlebotomy and specialized critical care protocols to ensure patient safety

Qualifications

• Active RN license (WA) or Nurse Licensure Compact eligibility
• Valid BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association
• NIHSS certification as required
• Proof of right to work in the United States
• For compact license holders: verification of suicide prevention training and demographic verification via Nursys e-Notify
• Critical care (ICU/CCU) experience in a hospital setting

Knowledge & Skills

• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation (CVP, PA pressures)
• Ventilator management and respiratory support
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring
• IV therapy, IV protocols and phlebotomy skills
• Medication administration and adverse event recognition
• Monitoring and troubleshooting life support equipment
• Patient assessment, care planning and patient/family education
• Lab specimen collection and basic diagnostic test interpretation
