Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide break relief and supplemental staffing across Emergency, Medical-Surgical/Swing Bed, and Skilled Nursing departments
• Independently implement the nursing process to deliver safe, individualized patient care
• Care for patients across the lifespan (0 to 120 years) with age-appropriate interventions
• Maintain required proof of competency and ensure practice meets facility expectations
• Respond to department needs as directed by the Nurse House Supervisor and CNO
• Collaborate with house supervisors and interdisciplinary teams to support smooth patient flow
• Prioritize and triage care during high-acuity situations in emergency and critical care settings

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered California RN license
• Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers (must be from American Heart Association)
• Current ACLS and PALS certifications
• Minimum 1 year acute care experience within the past 2 years
• At least 6 months recent experience in Emergency or Critical Care
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
• Proof of competency in assigned departments

• Nursing process and sound clinical judgment
• Age-appropriate patient care from pediatrics to geriatrics
• Acute care, emergency care, and critical care fundamentals
• Medical-surgical and skilled nursing competencies
• Ability to provide effective break relief and work across multiple units
• Collaboration with house supervisors and interdisciplinary teams
• Swing bed experience and familiarity with facility workflows
