Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct, compassionate critical care to ICU patients, monitoring and responding to changes in condition
• Operate and manage advanced life support equipment including ventilators and infusion systems
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to develop and adjust care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely, documenting interventions clearly and accurately
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings during handoffs
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment plans, and discharge needs
• Participate in unit quality improvement efforts and maintain compliance with hospital policies

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California required
• ICU experience preferred; comfort with critical care patient populations
• Current BLS required; ACLS strongly preferred or willingness to obtain
• Strong clinical assessment skills and prior experience with ventilator management
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive drips
• Experience with ventilator management and advanced airway care
• Familiarity with ICU protocols, infection control, and sepsis bundles
• Comfortable using electronic health record systems for documentation and communication
• Critical thinking, rapid decision-making, and strong prioritization under pressure
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to mentor and collaborate
