Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage complex critical care patients in a 16-bed ICU, maintaining high standards of safety and comfort
• Provide advanced ventilator management and sedation oversight to support optimal respiratory care
• Perform medication titration and titrate vasoactive infusions with precision and clinical judgment
• Deliver tracheostomy care and assist with procedures such as bronchoscopy and cardioversion
• Use Meditech for accurate, timely documentation of patient assessments and care
• Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure a 2:1 patient ratio is maintained
• Support patient experience initiatives including AIDET, communication boards, and medication teaching

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) title — candidate must be an RN
• Minimum 2 years of ICU / critical care nursing experience (explicit requirement)
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (listed as required)
• Unit-specific certification: Trauma III noted by the hospital
• Hands-on experience with ventilator management, sedation management, and medication titration
• Comfort with procedures common to the unit: trach care, bronchoscopy assistance, cardioversion
• Positive attitude, teamwork, and problem solving are must-haves for success on this unit

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical expertise in ICU nursing and critical care workflows
• Ventilator management and Drager ventilator familiarity
• Sedation management practices and medication titration protocols
• Experience with Meditech documentation system
• Use of unit equipment: GE monitors, Nova glucometers, Pyxis medication dispensing
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient education skills
• Ability to work within unit staffing models and floating rotations
