Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, compassionate nursing care on Labor & Delivery and Antepartum units
• Monitor maternal and fetal status using advanced fetal monitoring techniques
• Circulate and assist during C-sections and coordinate OR communication
• Manage high-risk antepartum patients with sound clinical judgment and team collaboration
• Respond to obstetric emergencies such as postpartum hemorrhage and facilitate D&C when needed
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans
• Document care accurately in EMR systems (CPN and Meditech) and ensure continuity of care
• Contribute to a positive, fast-paced team culture and support unit staffing needs

Qualifications

• Current RN license (valid in TX or compact RN authorization)
• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience (explicit requirement)
• Current NRP, ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• Interpretive Fetal Monitoring (Int. FM) certification (required)
• Experience circulating C-sections and caring for high-risk antepartum patients
• Comfort managing COVID-positive patients in labor, OR, antepartum and OBED settings
• Familiarity with EMR systems CPN and Meditech
• Strong teamwork, adaptability, and ability to work in a busy unit with defined patient ratios

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced fetal monitoring interpretation and documentation
• C-section circulation and OR coordination
• Management of cerclage, bilateral tubal ligation (BTL) and D&C for PPH
• High-risk antepartum assessment and interventions
• Ability to work with OBED and PACU flows and understand 2:1 labor ratios
• Proficiency with CPN and Meditech electronic medical records
• Excellent clinical judgment, situational awareness, and communication skills
• Team-focused approach in a fast-paced maternal health environment
