Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality Med/Surg nursing care to adult patients on night shift
• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Float to other departments as needed to support unit staffing and patient needs
• Communicate clearly with patients and families to educate and ease concerns
• Contribute to a positive team environment and participate in shift handoffs
• Adhere to hospital policies, safety protocols, and required certifications

Qualifications

• Current Washington RN license or multistate RN license (accepted)
• Completion of approved 6-hour suicide training (required)
• Nursys demographic verification (required)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Experience in Med/Surg nursing and prior night shift experience preferred
• Willingness to float to other departments and be a team player
• Ability to pick up extra shifts as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Meditech familiarity is helpful but not required
• Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment skills
• Accurate medication administration and documentation
• Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced setting
• Time management and prioritization during night shifts
• Basic life support, ACLS protocols, and NIHSS stroke assessment knowledge
• Adaptability to float to other units and cover evolving needs
