Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to older adults and help maintain their dignity
• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Take and record vital signs, fluid intake/output, and other basic observations accurately
• Build trusting relationships with residents and communicate changes to the care team
• Document care and resident responses clearly and timely in the charting system

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by the facility
• Comfort working with geriatric populations and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
• Strong communication skills and a positive, patient-centered attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Basic clinical skills: taking vitals, assisting with ADLs, safe transfers
• Good observational skills to notice changes in resident status
• Reliable time management and ability to follow care plans
• Teamwork mindset and professional communication with families and staff
