Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and stabilize patients of all ages presenting with emergency conditions, delivering high-quality, timely care
• Triage patients effectively to prioritize care for high-acuity presentations
• Administer IV medications and manage infusions using Alaris pumps with precision and safety
• Perform trauma and stroke interventions per protocol in a certified stroke center environment
• Document patient care clearly and thoroughly in EPIC to ensure continuity and safety
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in purposeful rounding to improve patient outcomes
• Support TeleHealth encounters when needed to extend emergency care capabilities

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Nebraska
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, HSS Team (workplace violence training), NIHSS where applicable
• Driver's license required at submittal (used to confirm 50-mile radius rule)
• Must pass open-book orientation exam with a minimum score of 90% (pass/fail)
• Adherence to professional appearance and facility policies (e.g., artificial nails prohibited in patient care areas)
• Ability to work high-acuity cases, maintain composure, and communicate with empathy

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in EPIC charting and documentation workflows
• Experience with Alaris IV pump operation and IV medication administration
• Strong triage and rapid patient assessment skills
• Trauma and stroke care knowledge appropriate for a certified stroke center
• Comfort treating patients across the lifespan and managing a wide variety of emergency diagnoses
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and critical thinking under pressure
• Familiarity with TeleHealth workflows and remote patient support
