Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality histologic slides from tissue sections for microscopic examination and diagnosis
• Perform tissue embedding, microtomy (sectioning), and a variety of staining techniques
• Gross small biopsies with care and accuracy to ensure optimal diagnostic material
• Document specimens and workflow using Epic AP and other applicable software
• Operate and maintain lab and office equipment while following safety procedures
• Maintain strict confidentiality, accurate records, and dependable attendance
• Collaborate with pathologists and interdepartmental teams to support patient care

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (required)
• ASCP certification (required)
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Histology Technologist (required)
• Demonstrated experience in embedding, cutting/microtomy, staining, and grossing small biopsies
• Experience with Epic AP (required) and general computer proficiency
• Ability to exercise independent judgment, maintain confidentiality, and work with minimal supervision
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective interdepartmental communication
