Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of nuclear medicine procedures including PET, HIDA, gastric emptying, and 3-phase/limited/whole body bone scans
• Operate and troubleshoot GE and Siemens imaging equipment with confidence
• Start and maintain IVs safely and effectively for imaging procedures
• Prepare, store, handle, and dispose of radioactive materials according to safety protocols
• Perform ventilation/perfusion and myocardial exercise/rest studies with attention to patient safety
• Follow isolation precautions and proper PPE procedures to protect patients and staff
• Document patient care and imaging studies in Epic and communicate findings to the care team
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, radiology, pharmacy, and interpretation services

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nuclear medicine experience (as listed in the job details)
• Preferred certifications: ARRT (N), NMTCB and/or CNMT
• Experience with PET, HIDA, bone scans, ventilation/perfusion studies and gastric emptying procedures
• Comfortable starting and maintaining IVs and working with radioactive materials
• Charting experience in Epic is preferred
• Willingness to float to outpatient and participate in call rotation

Knowledge & Skills

• Nuclear Medicine procedures: PET scan, HIDA scan, gastric emptying, bone scans (3-phase/limited/whole body)
• Lung imaging: ventilation/perfusion studies
• Cardiac imaging: myocardial exercise/rest protocols
• Safe handling, storage, and disposal of radioactive materials
• Infection control: isolation precautions and PPE best practices
• IV insertion and maintenance skills
• Familiarity with Epic charting and documentation
• Experience with GE and Siemens imaging equipment
