Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert peri-procedural nursing care for interventional radiology patients
• Assess and monitor patients before, during, and after IR procedures to ensure safety
• Collaborate closely with interventional radiologists, technologists, and the nursing team
• Maintain sterile technique and assist with procedural setup and instrumentation
• Document patient care and procedure details accurately in Cerner
• Educate patients and families on procedure expectations and post-procedure care
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns promptly

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible for submission in the state of California
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience; Interventional Radiology experience preferred
• Experience charting in Cerner or comparable EMR systems
• Ability to complete a 12-hour orientation period as part of onboarding
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient-centered care skills
• BSN is not required for this role

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma acceptable; BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Acute care nursing principles and patient assessment
• Interventional Radiology procedures, monitoring, and safety practices
• Competent charting and documentation using Cerner
• Proficiency with IV therapy, sedation monitoring, and sterile technique
• Critical thinking, triage, and rapid clinical decision making
• Excellent verbal and written communication with patients and multidisciplinary teams
