Shift Type: 3x12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, schedule varies (typical block of three day shifts per week). On-call requirement: typically 6 evenings and one weekend per 6 weeks on standby with a 30-minute response time.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures including PCI, PTCA, left and right heart catheterizations and stent placements
• Prepare, set up and operate specialized equipment including fluoroscopy and Siemens systems
• Provide accurate hemodynamic monitoring and perform EKG lead placement to ensure patient safety
• Serve as scrub or room circulator while maintaining a sterile field and assisting with vascular access procedures
• Manage and assist with mechanical circulatory support devices such as IABP, Impella and temporary pacemakers
• Assist with vascular closure systems like Perclose and StarClose and prep access sites for procedures
• Document patient care in EPIC and manage medications via Pyxis with clear SBAR communication
• Respond professionally to on-call activations and collaborate with rapid response or code teams when needed

Qualifications

• Active RN license; Swedish facilities accept an active compact license
• Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience; unit does not accept first-time travelers
• Previous travel assignment experience required
• Experience with diagnostic and interventional cath lab procedures such as PCI, PTCA, and stent placement
• Comfortable with hemodynamic monitoring and 1:1 patient care when required
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, BLS, CCI RCIS

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with EPIC documentation and Pyxis medication systems
• Fluoroscopy and Siemens imaging familiarity
• Strong sterile technique and ability to scrub and maintain sterile field
• EKG lead placement and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
• Experience with vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
• Ability to serve as room circulator and perform accurate monitoring
• Comfort working with mechanical assist devices and temporary pacing
• Familiar with SBAR communication and isolation precautions
• Able to participate effectively with Rapid Response or code teams
