Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up operating rooms, ensuring instruments and equipment are sterile and ready for each procedure
• Anticipate surgeon and team needs during cases and provide timely intraoperative assistance
• Follow strict aseptic technique to minimize infection risk and protect patient safety
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia to maintain smooth OR flow
• Perform instrument counts, handle sterile supplies, and ensure accurate setup for specialty cases
• Document case information and maintain accurate work history and skills records

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required with 2+ years of CST experience
• Proficient in Orthopedics, Urology, ENT, Gynecology, and General Surgery (required)
• Active American Heart Association BLS (required)
• Current skills checklist (within 1 year) pertinent to the Operating Room
• Two supervisory reference forms dated within the last two years (required)
• Candidate must provide permanent address; note that applicants within 90 miles of Batesville will not be reviewed

Education

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – required
• High school diploma or GED required; formal surgical technologist training preferred
• Active BLS (AHA) certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Aseptic technique and sterile instrument preparation
• Operating Room setup and intraoperative assistance
• Experience with multiple surgical specialties: Orthopedics, Urology, ENT, GYN, General
• Familiarity with MediTech EMR
• Strong attention to detail and patient safety focus
• Excellent teamwork and communication in high-pressure environments
