Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate Activities of Daily Living (ADL) support including bathing, feeding, toileting and grooming
• Perform routine catheter care and urinary collections while maintaining dignity and infection control
• Measure and record vital signs accurately (including orthostatics) and report changes in patient condition promptly
• Assist with safe patient transfers and mobility using Hoyer lift, transfer belts, slide boards and wheelchairs
• Perform glucose point-of-care testing and documentation as required
• Implement pressure injury prevention measures and complete bed baths, linen changes and skin care
• Use bed alarms, call lights, and bedside equipment safely to support patient safety
• Chart and document care thoroughly in Epic and communicate with interdisciplinary teams

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (state-appropriate) required
• Previous charge experience required — able to step into leadership when needed
• Travel experience required — comfortable floating to different units
• BLS certification preferred
• Charting experience with Epic preferred
• Comfort working in a community/critical access hospital setting with adult and geriatric patients

Education

• State CNA certification required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven skills in infection control, PPE use and isolation precautions
• Skilled in taking and interpreting vital signs, pulse oximetry and glucometer use
• Experience with safe patient handling and proper body mechanics
• Familiarity with routine catheter care and urine collection
• Comfortable assisting with ambulation, crutch use and oxygen tank handling
• Strong documentation and reporting skills to communicate patient changes effectively
• Ability to work calmly in acute care and 1:1 sitter situations
