Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide integrated, holistic, professional nursing care to med-surg patients during night shifts
• Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient, patient-centered outcomes
• Educate patients and families to promote active participation in care and support optimal recovery
• Perform thorough assessments and prioritize nursing interventions based on patients' needs
• Document care accurately and uphold Montana and national Nurse Practice Act standards
• Support occasional pediatric patients with appropriate clinical judgment and family-centered education
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a safe, caring environment and smooth shift handoffs

Qualifications

• Current Montana RN license (required)
• Graduate of an accredited nursing college (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (required)
• Comfortable and experienced working in medical-surgical settings; ability to manage adult med-surg populations (occasional pediatric patients)
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient/family education skills

Education

• Graduate nurse from an accredited nursing college

• Medical-surgical nursing practices and standards
• Patient and family education techniques
• Holistic nursing and care coordination approaches
• Effective interdisciplinary collaboration and handoff communication
• Prioritization and clinical decision-making on busy night shifts
• IV/med administration, assessment, and basic critical care recognition
