Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate basic care to residents, assisting with daily living activities
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team
• Support safe patient transfers and mobility with attention to proper body mechanics
• Assist with hygiene, feeding, dressing, and toileting while preserving dignity
• Communicate clearly with nurses, families, and interdisciplinary staff
• Keep accurate documentation and follow care plans and facility policies
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control practices

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in New Mexico (required)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working within delegated tasks under RN/LPN supervision
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively
• Reliable, compassionate, and patient-focused with a strong work ethic

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and active certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on patient care techniques and safe transfer skills
• Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
• Understanding of infection prevention and standard precautions
• Strong interpersonal skills for resident-centered care
• Ability to follow care plans, charting protocols, and facility procedures
