Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility in a respectful manner
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team promptly
• Take and record vital signs, intake/output, and other routine observations accurately
• Support safe transfers and positioning, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Maintain a clean, comfortable environment and follow infection control procedures
• Document care delivered clearly and collaborate with the care team and families

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in New Mexico (required)
• Active state nursing aide registry status and ability to pass background checks
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtained upon hire if required by facility
• Previous CNA experience in long-term care, rehabilitation, or similar settings preferred
• Strong communication skills, patience, and a team-first attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and successful certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic patient care
• Familiarity with proper infection control and safety practices
• Comfortable with documentation and following established care plans
• Good observational skills to notice changes in resident condition
• Teamwork, empathy, and the ability to communicate with residents and families
