Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Take and record vital signs, weight, and intake/output accurately
• Support safe mobility and transfers using proper techniques
• Assist nursing staff with basic clinical tasks and timely reporting of changes
• Document care in charts or electronic records clearly and promptly
• Create a warm, respectful environment that preserves resident dignity
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents receive proper nutrition
• Participate in team huddles and communicate effectively with colleagues

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential required
• Current state-required licensure/registration for New Mexico (or eligible to transfer)
• Basic life support (BLS/CPR) preferred or willing to obtain
• Demonstrated ability to work empathetically with older adults and medically complex patients
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow facility policies and procedures
• Willingness to work per-diem shifts, including longer daytime shifts

Education

• CNA certification (completed state-approved training program)
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in providing ADL assistance with patience and respect
• Knowledge of infection control and standard precautions
• Comfortable taking and recording vital signs and basic observations
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to document care accurately in paper or electronic records
• Awareness of safety and fall-prevention practices
