Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, respectful personal care to older adults
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and report concerns to nursing staff
• Support safe mobility, transfers and positioning with proper body mechanics
• Document care activities clearly and on time to ensure continuity
• Develop positive relationships with residents and their families to promote dignity

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or completion of an approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant program
• State-required documentation and any local credentials as applicable
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable working nights and supporting geriatric populations
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required background checks

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of a Geriatric Nursing Assistant program or equivalent certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and resident-centered approach
• Skillful with ADLs, safe transfers and infection control practices
• Able to observe and report clinical changes accurately
• Good time management and documentation skills
• Empathy, patience and strong interpersonal skills
