Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, respectful personal care to geriatric residents
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor residents’ conditions and promptly report changes to nursing staff
• Document care accurately and maintain clear communication with the care team
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents’ dietary needs are met
• Help create a warm, safe environment that promotes dignity and independence

Qualifications

• GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required or equivalent state certification
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working with elderly populations and assisting with ADLs
• Strong communication skills and an ability to work well in a team
• Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic nursing care and resident hygiene practices
• Safe transfer and ambulation techniques
• Vital signs monitoring and basic observation skills
• Infection control and hand hygiene protocols
• Accurate documentation and charting practices
• Compassionate, patient-centered communication
