Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry continuously to detect and respond to cardiac changes
• Provide high-quality cardiac and telemetry nursing care on 4 South and occasionally float to Med-Surg units
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Epic EMR (Epic proficiency required)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans for complex patients
• Perform focused assessments, intervene during acute events, and escalate concerns promptly
• Support safe patient transitions and handoffs, especially during weekend coverage
• Maintain competency in telemetry reading and pass the required competency on day one

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (eligible to practice in Ohio)
• Current BLS required and ACLS required
• Minimum 3 years of recent/current Telemetry and/or Stepdown experience
• Proven ability to read telemetry (will be competency-tested on day one)
• Current Epic EMR proficiency required (no refresher/1:1 options)
• Comfort with 12-hour day shifts and every-weekend coverage
• Strong clinical judgment, effective communication, and teamwork skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• Active RN license (Ohio) and required certifications (BLS, ACLS)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Cardiac/Telemetry nursing best practices
• Epic EMR documentation and workflows
• Med-Surg fundamentals including wound care, stroke care, oncology and respiratory care
• Observation unit and ED/Med-Surg boarder management
• BLS and ACLS protocols and emergency response
