Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist lead dentists and dental residents chairside in general dentistry procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms, set up instruments, and ensure efficient patient flow
• Provide compassionate care for a unique patient population, including special needs cases
• Accurately chart procedures and patient notes using EPIC
• Maintain infection control and sterilization standards for patient safety
• Support training and mentorship activities in a dental residency clinic environment
• Communicate clearly with patients, caregivers, and the clinical team to ensure quality care

Qualifications

• Licensed Dental Assistant (DA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) through the Washington State Department of Health, or must apply for WA licensure on the day of submittal (hard stop)
• Minimum 1 year of general dentistry experience required; additional experience or specialties are a strong plus
• Comfortable working in a teaching/residency clinic and with patients who have special needs
• Familiarity with EPIC charting preferred or willingness to learn quickly
• First-time travel/contract DAs accepted; pending license accepted if WA application is submitted at time of application
• Able to adhere to one RTO request policy (submit at time of application)

Knowledge & Skills

• General dentistry procedures and chairside assisting
• EPIC charting and accurate clinical documentation
• Infection control, instrument sterilization, and clinical safety protocols
• Strong patient communication, especially with special-needs populations
• Ability to follow direction from a lead DA and collaborate with dental residents
